I was raised on the outskirts of a small esoteric mountain town not far from New York City. The city called my teenage soul, and then kept me there for 13 years, working as an artist and designer. I fell in love, got married, and next came the baby carriage . . . and a move to California. Now I’m the mother of two amazing children and married to a very entertaining man, and together we are reveling in what’s beyond the sidewalks. Although our jobs tie us to city living, my heart belongs outside and I am determined to make sure my kids grow up knowing what it feels like to squish mud between their toes.
